Film Dweeb is an independent film publication and YouTube channel founded by Christian Tizya — a Vancouver-based filmmaker with an obsession for cinema that goes well beyond just watching it.
The idea is simple: cover film the way it deserves to be covered. Not just what's opening this weekend, but how movies are made, why they matter, and what gets lost when nobody's paying attention. That means behind-the-scenes deep dives, physical media culture, box office analysis, industry commentary, and criticism that actually engages with the craft.
Since launching, Film Dweeb has grown to over 10 million YouTube views, a monthly podcast, and a readership that takes film as seriously as we do. We're based in Vancouver, BC — one of the most active film production cities in North America — and that proximity to the industry informs everything we do.
